Greetings all. The Derby field is still in flux. Today Cobalt Blue and Xchanger dropped out and Teuflesberg and Imawildandcrazyguy dropped in. Too bad we won't have another chance to see Merv Griffin do his best dirty old man shtick when Jeannine Edwards interviews him about his horse, Cobalt Blue.
I'm still researching the field and coming up with a whole lot of "eh?" So far, the most exciting thing about this Derby is the attendance of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain. If anyone happens to chat up the Queen during her visit to these shores make sure to ask her for her Derby pick. She's quite a race fan and has had a very successful racing stable for years. In honor of her attendance I'm thinking of referring to this year's ARFTCHC as "The Royal Edition."
